A Little Bit of History
Bohdan B. Zarowsky immigrated to Canada from Ukraine in 1949. Upon arrival in Canada he immediately embraced the Canadian opportunity. He worked hard taking courses with a view of mastering the English language and worked in various trades to pay his way through University obtaining both an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts and subsequently a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Toronto from which he graduated as a lawyer. Mr. Bohdan Zarowsky was ultimately granted the prestigious title of Queen’s Council. He married in Canada and he and his wife raised five children. His son, Roman, followed in his footsteps also pursuing a career practicing law. Today, Bohdan and Roman share office space in Toronto’s west end where they are very involved with and connected to the Ukrainian community.
Roman M.A. Zarowsky, B.A., LL.B.
After completing his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Toronto in 1986, Roman worked with the Canadian Navy on the West Coast of Canada for a year, undergoing Officer Training during which he spent time in Hawaii, Samoa, Fiji, Australia and Alaska, gaining valuable experience in working with and leading people. After this year of Officer Training, Roman attended at one of Canada’s premier law schools, Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, where he completed his Bachelor of Laws degree in 1990.
Roman articled at a mid-sized downtown Toronto law firm to which he returned to practice after his Call to the Bar in 1992. In 1996 Roman opened his own law firm. He brings to his practice intense legal training including extensive Court and Trial experience in both Provincial Court and Ontario Court (General Division) throughout Southern Ontario, as well as appearances before various tribunals and boards. He is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Metropolitan Toronto Lawyers’ Association, and a past member of the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ukrainian Professional Business Association, and an Associate Member of the HMCS York Wardroom.
